Get in the Olympic spirit and don't forget your tots in the festivities! For those with toddlers, this is the FIRST Olympic Games for your them, so make it memorable with these Ralph Lauren gear. They are the official outfitter for the US team, which is very fitting. I love the Americana appeal and the fun giant "Beijing" in Chinese. This is something you can keep for your kids to pass down to theirs. The Polo is $85 and the hoodie is $115 at the Ralph Lauren website, also available in all their boutiques.

Papo d'Anjo Summer Blouses Sale

papadanjo_hippiepapodanjo_countryshirt
The Hippie blouse $49; The Country blouse $62

Don't these girls look so happy, healthy and beautiful? That is what attracted me to these blouses but on second look, it turns out I actually really love the Little House on the Prairie inspired prints. Little girls can get away with fussy print, in fact, they look amazing in them! They have a lifetime to devote to solids, let them be fabulous and carefree in prints while they can! Papo d'Anjo have the most luxurious and beautiful clothes for your precious kids so when things are on sale, you have to jump on it. Get them in bigger sizes to stock up. The Country blouse has gathered cap sleeves with a drawstring neckline and come in a ton of colors and prints, on sale for $62 (was $79). The Hippie blouse (I love this one more) has bell sleeves and a super cute trim detail in the front with a tie closure. Comes in 5 different prints as well as white for $49 (was $99).

Crib Rock Concert Tees Giveaway

cribrock_maryandlillambcribrock_london

Put some cool Rock n Roll vibes in your kids with these funky nursery rhyme rock tees. A totally adorable, sassy and clever spin on boring old rhymes - Mary and the 'Lil L.A.M.B., "This Sheep is Bananas!". Just don't tell your kids what the real Gwen Stefani lyrics are. Another fun one, "Little Miss Muffet, Drop it like it's hot!", as in the spider of course. The London Bridge is my favorite with the tag line borrowed from Fergie, "Back 2 back drop it down real low". There are so many and if you win, you get to pick from any of the Concert Series tees. The tee shirts are worth $38 (prices vary depending on style and size) and sizing is from infant all the way up to 5/6. To win, explain to me what "The Cat and the Fiddle" rhyme means. I have never understood it, it is so abstract and cryptic, especially the dish and spoon part! Put your interpretation in comments and we will select 2 winner through a random drawing from all entries. We will give away one boy AND one girl so please specify which when you enter. One entry per person please! The giveaway will close on Friday August 1st at 11:59pm EST.

Thank you Crib Rock Couture for sponsoring the prizes.

Tees For Change

tees_laughoftentees_dreambig.jpg

tee-staystrongSend the message to your kids early, the key to happiness is not getting into Harvard and then making 7 figures (6 figures is not enough nowadays, right?). I know, you are waiting for me to reveal what the key is but unfortunately I don't have a clue either, but "Laugh Often" and "Dream Big" seem like a good start. Although, I need to clarify as to not contradict myself, Dream Big to me means getting the things that cannot be bought with money, such as never-ending love, loving who you are, the ability to devote to your passion and of course kids! The plan to convert your neighbor's house into your walk in closet may sound like a Big Dream, but when it comes right down to it, it is quite meaningless (although it would be fantastic!!!). I love these 100% organic cotton tees for what it says as well as what it doesn't say, buying organic is good for the earth. There are also mom size tees like this "Stay Strong" one to give encouragement for those late nights with extreme crying. "Laugh Often" and "Dream Big" onesies are $24, "Stay Strong" for moms are $32 (one percentage of this shirt goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation).

Cool Pants for Boys

dn_cargo_blue_front.jpgtea_lichen-sakura_pant.jpg

It looks like I have been ignoring the boys lately and I do apologize. But I am going to make it up big time with these great finds for your loyal mama's boys. I am a huge Da-Nang fan, of course living in LA I feel justified in spending $200 on pants that look a bit worn and shabby. These pants, though, are ultra chic and cool enough for your most handsome. And if you have a true rebel on your hands, he will love these dragon canvas print cargos. How awesome is it to have dragons in your life? Right now all I have are lame princesses. Da Nang cargo in estate blue is $72 (also comes in pink for BFF sis) and the Tea Collection Sakura Canvas Printed pants are $50 at Milk Shop.

"Baby Legs", Baby Leg Warmers

baby_legs_-_organic_minipools.jpgbaby_legs_-_organic_cayenne.jpg

babylegsI know it is still summer and very hot but I am getting ready for the Fall, for myself and my kids. The Bag Leg leg warmers are the best things for cold weather, they may not be so relevant in my life now that I am back in sunny southern California, but they were essential when we lived in Boston. Hello! Humans should not be subjected to temperatures that are below zero much less 20 below!!! And little babies should NEVER come into direct contact with that kind of coldness. I bundled from head to toe but the pant leg opening was always a problem, you gotta shore up that gap to prevent the cold air from whisking up in there. That's one use for these. Also, when you get indoors, the heater is always cranked up to 90 degrees. Instead of stripping them down to remove leggings, these slip off easily without the need to remove the pants. I also use them at home when we're just lounging (the picture on the left is my daughter when she was 11 months old, see how cute the leg warmers are!!). They are perfect for crawlers as knee guards. I love the wonderfully bright colors and now they are available in organic cotton. Prices range from $15-20 at Baby Bella.

Enchanted Enfant Couture

enchantedenfant_marie.jpgenchantedenfant_louise.jpg
Marie Antoinette; Louise de Lorraine

These are really the most precious and beautiful dresses I have even seen for little girls. Of course they are for special occasions but I love the casual elegance of the look. I am not sure how comfortable they are with the corsets, I am pretty sure my girls will be unhappy in them but then again, my older one is pretty vain so she might already be willing to suffer for fashion at 3 years old. I sometimes wish we still get all dressed up like this but then again, that is my fantasy 3 year old princess brain talking. But that is also why your girls will feel so incredibly special and brighten your world with that extra sparkle in her eyes with this on. The Marie Antoinette is $188 and the Louise de Lorraine is $228, both are equally fabulous. More images of the dresses at Posh Tots. If you've never been to their site, it is an experience for sure, they have the most amazing things.

Best & Co. Fall Preview

2628461103_a2c180fdb9.jpg

I just got back from the Best & Co. showroom where I had the chance to preview their new fall '08 back-to-school collection for boys and girls, as well as their most extensive newborn layette cashmere and prima cotton collection. The garments range the gamut from $18 up to $275 and the new layette pieces are absolutely gorgeous (though can you ever go wrong outfitting your little tot in pure cashmere!?). It was a little nostalgic for me because I remember wearing Best & Co when I was younger (the company was founded in 1871 and has long been known for making some of the best traditional, elegant fashions for young girls and boys). I was also told by Best & Co's gracious PR rep Louisa that they will be collaborating with swim wear guru Shoshanna for tot bikinis and bathing suits! If that's not enough for you, come Holiday they'll be teaming-up with Peter Som for a line of boys and girls dresses and separates - -can't wait to see what Som comes-up with:)

Read-on for some stand-outs from the Fall '08 collection which will be available this September!

Tea Collection

girl_landing_08Sum.jpg

I was so excited when I heard about Tea Collection from my friend Sara. They make super-cute tot fashions and they've teamed-up with The Global Fund for Children for a series of shirts and bodysuits! They'll be donating 50% of each sale to GFC, whose mission is to help underprivileged kids. Tea Collection itself has a great philosophy -- they make clothing influenced by the beauty found in cultures from around the world (hence the name Tea, since it's a drink shared in nearly every culture) -- love it! Check-out some of the pieces below!

media.nl.jpg untitled.JPG

Little Citizen Bodysuit (3-12mos, $18) -- this onesie comes in off-white and aqua green and reads "for little citizens of the world" across the chest.

Mandarin%20Set.jpg
Mandarin Set (3-12mos, $58) -- this set comes in off-white and brown and has a button down top with mandarin collar and matching pants, both are made with Pima cotton.

Tissue%20Set.jpg

Tissue Set (3-6mos, $94) -- this off-white set is made of Pima cotton and has a wrap-style jacket with an inside tie at the chest. The sleeve features a tiny "thank you" tag that's meant to be on behalf of the children aided by the Global Fund for Children who benefit from the purchase of this item -- what a great way to start teaching your tot about the value of helping those in need:)

Barefoot Dreams CozyChic Youth Robe

cozychic.jpg

I have Barefoot Dreams blankets, robes, slippers and hoodies for myself so why deny my precious babies of something I love and cannot live without? My kids love their blankets but this is another essential. I know you are thinking it is too hot for a robe in the summertime, but just thing of pool, beach, splash park and late nights with kids asleep when you are out. I know the first thing my daughter does when she exits whatever water feature she was in is rip off her clingy wet bathing suit - and at this point does not want to put on clothes, that's when the Cozy Chic robes enter the scene. These incredibly soft robes are like a blankie and favorite plush toy all in one. It comes in many soft comfy colors in sizes 2-5T, 6-8 and then up to 8-Junior. At Amazon.com for $55.95.

Baby Gardner Vintage Inspired Fashion

babygardner_overall.jpgbabygardner_chickadee.jpg
"Sharing Ice Cream" Little Boy Short Overall, $36; Mommy's Little Chick-a-dee Dress, $40

I am always looking for unique clothes that show individuality. It is easy enough to shop at the mall and of course I do, but you have to throw in a few pieces that will set your kids apart. The Baby Gardner vintage inspired embroidered baby fashion are adorable, comfy and shows character. It is hard to always dress them up, so it is especially exciting when I find easy to wear, everyday things that are special. I mean, we all have gorgeous dresses and handsome coat and tie sets, but how often do those get worn? Don't you want your babies to stand out just on a regular Wednesday? And you should! They also have one of a kind "couture" for girls. Interesting but not my style.

Cabana Life, Sunblock Summer Fashion

The only unfun part of going to the beach is my constant anxiety that my kids are going to get sunburned. That goes for anywhere that is outdoors actually. Tender baby skin can get sunburned as quickly as 1 minute!! My pediatrician warned me that even with sunblock on, kids should not be in the sun for more than 15 minutes max. Uh, ok, that makes the trip to the beach a little rushed. For your sanity and the safety of your babies' skin, get clothes with SPF protection. It works so much better than any other sun barriers and you don't have to reapply. But to be perfectly honest, my paranoia requires that I use 50+ sunblock on top of sun protective clothing. Reapply every hour!

Cabana Life has the best selection of adorable summer wear that does not compromise on style, at all!! Toddler's Sun Protective Three-Piece Swim Set is $65; Toddler's Sun Protective Tunic Dress is $45. Have fun, enjoy, relax and go home with just a healthy glow.

andy&bella: Tees with Tatts!

tee%201.png

Andy&bella was started by two fashionistas who loved tattoos, but couldn’t commit to having something permanent on their body (I for one can’t even commit to wearing the Cartier Love Bracelet which is fastened with tiny, sturdy screws that can only be opened and closed using a special, Cartier-specific screwdriver!). Sandy Clayton and Melissa Bell, the designers behind andy&bella, took their passion for fashion and tattoos, and created vintage tattoo-style images screen-printed on cotton t-shirts that come with a matching removable body-tattoo!

The tees come in sizes fit for tots, children, and women and are designed in a wonderful array of vibrant colors. You can order any of the shirts at andyandbellanyc.com for $36.

Tue Child for the Everyday

tuechild.jpgtuechildromper.jpg

Make your child is a little fashionista, Tuechild.com with the drool-worthy selection of outfits fit for all those family shindigs and dressy affairs. Though the site has a somewhat limited number of pieces, their selection is impeccable! Check out some of my favorites! How cute would any little girl look in this plaid shift dress ($66)? It’s perfect for your little one to wear to an afternoon summer barbeque and I could just see myself adding some ruffled white socks and a pair of pink shoes for a little extra sass! The little boys stuff is equally cute, like the plaid romper which is on sale from $66 to only $36! These are adorable outfits that will have your tots standing out from the crowd.

Kate Quinn Organics

We no longer need to compromise on style to get organic for our kids. Kate Quinn has made the choice simple and affordable while looking handsome and pretty! Just look at these cute little numbers. I am in love with the Velour Blazer ($44) for boys, your handsome gentleman will have the girls swooning with this on and it is soft and comfortable so he won't be suffering for the sake of fashion =) They also have unique and beautiful styles for girls, like this Topstitch Skirt ($32) with the fun pocket detail. The coordinating Puff Sleeve Shirt is $22.

New For Baby - Clothes for Newborns

NFB_hoodie.jpgNFB_yogapants.jpgNFB_onepiece.jpgNFB_socks.jpg

You might not think anything seen here is so ingenious and revolutionary but let me tell you, these gals have thought of everything - all the things you will discover too late, after spending your entire baby budget on clothes that are impractical and ill-fitting. New For Baby was created especially for newborns and have features like, tagless garments to prevent itching, neckline snaps for their disproportioned giant heads, lower rise pants to avoid the healing belly button, lined zippers to prevent pinching, foldover cuffs on long sleeves to keep those sharp nails from scratching, and the list goes on. And I love that all the colors and designs are hip and modern, not generic baby themed (ducks, bears, puppies, etc., they are cute but I wouldn't want them on my clothes, would you?). These are also great shower gifts for those who don't know the sex of the baby, any of the color combos are perfect for either. Here are a few of their best sellers: Hoodie $28; and Yoga pants $16, One Piece Solid $20; Sure fit socks $6 (imagine, socks that don't fall off!!), .

Chloe Children's Collection

chloe_onesie.jpgchloe_collardress.jpg
Printed Linen Dress ($232); Poplin Dress in Apricot ($262)
Knit Onesie ($214); White Poplin Dress ($180)

This stuff is so cute I want them all in my size! Truly made for kids with amazingly hip parents, this Chloe line for kids is every bit as stylish and true to the label as the women's line. The Printed Linen Dress ($232) has a tonal lace trim and scoop neckline with beaded drawstring. Perfect for weekends with grandma, neither will complain about style or comfort. The Poplin Dress in Apricot ($262) has adorable tonal eyelet detail and a Peter Pan collar, always appropriate and very put together. The Knit Onesie ($214) is something I see as a shower gift, it is ridiculously cute with the cape and tie detail but obviously something she will grow out of in 3 days. For a really special occasion where colorful food is not involved, this White Poplin Dress ($180) with pintucked Bermuda collar is just about the most beautiful thing you can put on your daughter. Look at all that detail!! All available at Bergdorf Goodman.

Ruffle Butts

rufflebutts_RET_lg.jpgrufflebutt_pink_lg.jpg

Cute does not adequately describe these Ruffle Butts bloomers!! Summer is here (for some of us at least) and we would never have our tots suffer in the heat for the sake of fashion. Luckily, we have options like this where a onesie and these bloomers can make a fashion statement all in a quick second (I admit, I don't always have time in the morning to get my kids looking perfectly posh). They have sets, like the retro rose print set ($60 for crawler pants, $50 set for bloomers set) or just the Ruffle Butts by itself ($17). They come in all the perfect spring colors, like lavender, lime, aqua, turquoise, fuschia as well as gorgeous floral prints. Why sweat it? Get a whole a collection for the season.

Burberry Trench

burberry_tench.pngburberry_trench_detail.png

This is the perfect time to get a white trench for everyone in the family, especially your little one who might get caught in some spring showers. This is when I buy stuff like this because they grow into it perfectly by the winter. Why not get a whole year's use out of it? This is seriously the most adorable thing ever and I do not know why they would not make it in my size! The design is not just a knockoff of the adult version, the little puffy draw string pockets are supremely cute, plus kids love pockets and it's just big enough to tuck in tiny treasures. At Burberry for $295.

La Garconne Tot Fashion

makie_balloondress.jpgmalolespetitezoe.jpg

You cannot get any cuter than this balloon dress! The draw string pockets are way adorable, I can't get over it! It is $132 and go up to 4T. I am all about keeping my kids looking like kids for as long as possible and La Garconne has just what I need for that. These little tiny ballet slippers are to die!! It is on sale for $45, it is 50% off so get them fast. They go up to 9 months. Too bad they don't come in a size 10 for me (yes, I have giant feet, as if being a size 9 wasn't big enough, my 2 pregnancies have bumped me to a full 10).

Chic baby gifts

bbblanket2.jpgbbtrumpette.jpg

I am always on the hunt for cute baby gifts. Last year, I was searching online for one of my girlfriend’s new baby girl, and I stumbled upon Baby Bella. Their customer service and selection are great. I prefer to put together a collection of baby items to make the perfect gift, as opposed to one large gift or something off a baby registry, and Baby Bella makes this easy, with a large selection of adorable baby items. I also love their gift wrapping! For a small fee, you can have each gift wrapped separately, and you should definitely choose this option. A stack of meticulously wrapped gifts makes for a beautiful presentation! And the items are so cute, you'll find yourself shopping for your own children as well!

In 2004, the owners of Baby Bella opened a boutique in Fish Creek, WI, with the desire to only sell high quality children’s clothing and nursery decor. They pride themselves on their selection of fun and funky baby items. After a large response to their store, they opened the online site.

I have ordered from Baby Bella several times, and my girlfriends loved the gifts! Some of my favorites from the site are Trumpette socks, Bebe Au Lait and Baby Burpie burp cloths, Taggies, Diapering Attaches, and Robeez shoes.

Best & Co. Summer Favorites

bestandco_floralshorts.jpgbestandco_bluestripesuit.jpg

Whenever I go to Bergdorf Goodman in New York I am sucked in to looking at their incredible kids section (it is next to the restrooms!!) particularly the Best & Co. stuff. They are known for their dress up clothes but their vacation must haves are just as amazing! The boys stuff is a bit too serious for me but I am in love with the summer girls' collection. I am in Hawaii this week so these are my picks for the trip. These shorts are easy and comfy but will look sharp even in the hot summer heat. And the bathing suit is so cute and totally kid-like as it should be. The Floral Printed Shorts are $78 and the Blue Striped Bathing Suit is $75.

Hand Picked Pumpkin Bespoke Clothing

rerepumpkin1.jpg

I am always on the hunt for cute baby clothes that are somewhat unique. I hate showing up somewhere, and all the little boys are wearing the same Baby Gap clothes. And don’t even get me started on the lack of boys’ clothes, compared to girls clothes! With all this in mind, I was very impressed when I saw Hand Picked Pumpkin. The adorable clothes, which have a celebrity following, are available either in ready-made outfits, or you can customize them. All of the clothes are made of comfortable, yet chic, soft knits and modern woven prints. And the boys’ clothes are just as cute as the girls! If you need a great gift, check out their beautiful blankets and burp cloths. I also like that the company is environmentally responsible, and that they donate a portion of their profits to children’s charities. Available at www.handpickedpumpkin.com.

Phillip Lim Petal Tea Dress

3.1.jpg

I love Phillip Lim, for myself that is. So imagine how excited I am to shop Phillip Lim for my daughters? This Petal Front Tea Dress is really sweet and looks like kid's fashion but it isn't so spectacular that it warrants the $225 price tag. It is sheer with a lining so it isn't something that is comfortable for everyday, in fact, I don't think I could convince my daughter to put this on (she is into cotton T's these days). There are other styles that are super fashionable but they are not appropriate for kids and didn't even look that great on their adorable child model. Some things just aren't meant to be made in tiny sizes. And you thought anything teeny tiny would be cute, right? I am hoping the line will evolve and incorporate the things that matter to parents - comfort, ease and non-dry clean!

Baby Lulu Is Crazy Adorable!!

babylulu_popart.jpgbabylulu_patio.jpg
Left: Ruffle jumper $59; Right: Lilli Top $43 and Capri Pant $52

I have been buying Baby Lulu since my first daughter was a little baby. Their stuff is so colorful, happy and like my title suggests, crazy adorable! And their prices are really reasonable so I get to look like I'm a total snob about not compromising on my kid's fashion without having to spend the big bucks. They are in comfortable cotton so you can wear these everyday to lounge, play and nap in. No need to suffer for fashion at such a young age! Everything comes in sets, that's how I buy everything because coordinated pieces looks the best, and is important if you want to avoid the hand me down look. Especially with bright colorful prints, you have to do the whole set. And it also makes things easy, I mean, who wants to go through drawers looking for pants that match at 6am? You usually don't find something and your cute top ends up looking less than spectacular with random clashing PJ bottoms. I am so happy the weather is nice now (I apologize to those who are still dealing with cold weather, southern California is more than happy to welcome you here) so I have been doing major summer shopping! I literally bought the entire line from Baby Lulu, I got matching prints for my 2 daughters (my older daughter loves that! and ok, I admit, I think it's totally sweet). I am going on 3 beach vacation this summer (Travel Horror Stories anyone?) so I am totally ready in the wardrobe department. The traveling part, let's just skip that part for now, I will stress about that when I need to stress about it. Go to Baby Lulu's website to find store locations that carry the line.

More looks after the jump.....

Levi's Organic Denim Eco Jeans

levis_ecojeans.jpg

Everyone needs hip jeans, especially your trendy little tot. And what is more hip and trendy these days than organic denim? It is important to invest in organic cotton because it preserves the land the cotton is planted on. In order to produce certified organic cotton, the land needs to sit there for many years while the previous pesticides and chemicals are cleared away. That is why it is so expensive to buy organic fabrics. But for the price of these Levi's you are not only saving the environment, Levi's will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each pair of jeans to Trust for the Public Land. How fabulous is that? These Capital E Eco Jeans are at Barneys for $148, goes from size 2-18.

Jacadi Fall Sale

jacadi_girl.jpgjacadi_boy.jpg

Don't want to spend too much on kid's clothes but you are too much of a snob to see your kids in The Gap? Well, here is your chance to get Gap prices on fabulous French kids fashion from Jacadi, my go to place for fresh, well tailored and immaculate looks. This is your chance to stock up on next winter's coats (and everything else) at half price. For me, coats is a major purchase, I believe in nice coats for myself and I extend the sentiment for everyone in the family =) This super hip and playful cotton coat for boys is only $39 (was $78)! This is lightweight so you can keep it in your car for cool summer days and wear it into Fall (of course, always buy one size up so you can get the most wear). This Peacoat for girls is the most adorable thing I've ever seen, I want to buy it in multiple sizes so my girls can wear it their entire childhood but unfortunately the sizing only goes to 24 M. It is only $64 (was $128) and will be a staple for us as long as I can get her in it. I went haywire shopping last night, there are shirts for $15 and pants for $24. Like I said, couture for tots at Gap prices - but hurry, the sizing is limited. The sale page is a bit hard to navigate, click on the pictures on the bottom that correspond to the selection you want, baby, accessories, boy or girl.

Little Marc Blandine Dress

Little Marc has captured the perfect balance of sophisticated fashion for tots while still maintaining kid appropriate styles. There is nothing worse than adult clothes in baby sizes (i.e. anything leopard and feathers). This is totally Marc Jacobs with the bold bright colors and the uber fashionable smock neckline and tunic silhouette. If my daughter will go shopping with me (she hates it, can you imagine how awful that is for me!) this would be the dress I would love to see her in. I do have another girl who is still young enough to train so I better start finding ways for her to love Barneys and Neiman Marcus (they do sell Godiva at Neimans!!). This is available in size 2T-6T, which is perfect because babies need to stick to soft color bloomers. At Saks Fifth Avenue
